Facebook Business Manager steps every Business Owner must complete after Apple's recent iOS update (Feb 2021)
Is your business on Facebook or Instagram? Are you running ads on social media?
As a result of Apple’s latest iOS update, business owners who use Facebook Business Manager to run paid campaigns on Facebook platforms (including Instagram) MUST complete one or two steps in order to continue to run targeted campaigns.
I’m no expert on this, so I enlisted the help of my digital strategist, Leslie, to talk me through what I (the business owner) need to do following this iOS update. We recorded our Zoom call and I’ve posted it to YouTube. I hope it’s super helpful to other small business owners who are trying to navigate this update!
In this video, Leslie talks me through completing the Domain Verification step in both the Squarespace and GoDaddy domain providers.
Before you start:
Assuming you use…
Facebook business manager
A Facebook pixel
You will need…
Facebook business login (business.facebook.com)
Domain provider login OR access to backend code of your website
Steps:
1. Domain Verification / OWNER MUST COMPLETE.
Three options:
OPTION 1: DNS TEXT RECORD (most common, shown in the zoom call video)
Add a DNS TXT record to your domain host to prove that you own the domain. Most domain hosts allow this, but the specific steps for each service will vary. In the video, we will show you how to complete the Domain Verification Step in both Squarespare and GoDaddy.
OPTION 2: HTML
Upload an html verification file to your website. To do this you need admin access to your website’s root folder. This will verify your domain immediately.
OPTION 3: META-TAG
Insert the meta-tag containing the verification code into the <head> section of your website’s homepage.
2. Conversion Event Prioritization / ANY ADMIN CAN COMPLETE
Might not be necessary for you, explained further in this video.
As it states in the video, if you run into any bumps, you can reach out to Leslie at lesliecoledigital@gmail.com!
Cheers!
